Founded in 2002, Sistahs Steppin’ in Pride is the premiere festival serving the S.F. East Bay’s lesbian, queer and bisexual women’s communities. The march and festival is held each year at Lake Merritt in Oakland, California--home to more lesbians per capita than any other big city in the nation.

Over the past 7 years, our event has grown from a morning march with a few hundred participants to a full weekend of events. In 2008, more than 2000 women attended Sistahs Steppin’ festivities, including a march, a day-long festival, an evening dance party and a Sunday brunch.
