Sistahs, as we define it, includes ALL women who recognize the necessity to come together from a space of Sistahood and Sistahlove.
MISSION STATEMENT Sistahs Steppin’ in Pride illuminates the collective and individual creativity, strength, and accomplishments of East Bay lesbian and bisexual women to reaffirm their beauty and sense of belonging.
PURPOSE Sistahs Steppin’ in Pride’s purpose is to nurture intergenerational and multi-cultural bridges and create a safe, sacred space to honor our Herstory. We seek to empower the diverse East Bay lesbian and bisexual community of women to reclaim their lives from fear and celebrate their spirituality. We aspire to provide opportunities to the artists, activists, community organizations and individuals of our community to come together and share our lives and resources.
CORE PLANNING COMMITTEE
Who are we, you ask? Sistahs Steppin' in Pride is lovingly managed year-round by eight queer women of diverse cultures and backgrounds who each have mad love for our beautiful community. Though we’re not paid with money, we think the joy, enthusiasm, support and gratitude for our efforts is well worth our time. We’re especially excited to witness the growth of our East Bay Dyke March & Festival - from a handful of participants in 2002 to the thousand-plus crowd (and growing!) grooving with us last year! Of course, we couldn’t POSSIBLY do any of this on our own… Friends just like you contribute their time, love, financial & in-kind support, and resources to help us put it all together every year. What a wonderful community we call “home”!
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO KEEP THIS FESTIVAL ALIVE!
